I've watched another DVD from Fox Video last night with my husband.
This one is called The Whistleblower.
I loved this one a lot. I was really anxious to watch this movies, mainly because I read the book last year, the agent of the author had sent me the book for me to review on my book blog that I had at the time. I had to shut down my book blog because of medical reasons but I am now back on the road and have now relaunched a new book blog and am again reviewing books.
Back to the movie, I was a bit disappointed, naturally because movies are never like books and leave a great part of it out and often romance the story so the movie sells.
But I still enjoyed the movie greatly. But I saw scenes that were harsh to look at, that I did not read in the book, and that were not as descriptive or gross if I may say so.
But as for the rest the movie is quite true to the book.
This is based on a true story. Rachel Weisz play the role of a female cop from Nebraska who embarks herself
on a mission far from her home to come to the aid to a post-war nation, in Bosnia. She will serve as a peace keeper.
She first starts of to investigate simple crimes and then succeeds to bring to justice a case of domestic violence which gives her the opportunity to be upgraded to a superior task. She then gets the cases of girls beaten and raped and discovers that they are victims of human trafficking.

Once she starts to investigate, she discovers that the whole UN and higher officers and diplomats are all involved in this. So she embarks on a crusade to try to save these girls, but it won,t be easy, she gets murder threats. She then gets fired from the UN. So she takes all her files and flees Bosnia and takes her case to the public courts and the press. This is a to be seen movie and a to be read book.
